From Red To Gold!

Hello Book Nerds and happy second Monday! I hope everyone had a great weekend and got to celebrate all the mothers in their lives on Sunday!!

I told you all last week that I would be announcing my newest read tonight and I have been waiting not so patiently ever since! Just like the last series by Marie Brennan, I have been making my way through this series via Audible. It’s my pleasure to announce that I have begun the ‘Red Rising Saga’ by Pierce Brown!

I’ve devoured the first novel named after the series ‘Red Rising’ and I am roughly a third of the way through the second ‘Golden Son’! If you’re a fan of sci-fi I highly recommend this series. My only complaint at the moment is that I don’t have the physical copies so that I can hybrid read, but the audiobooks are holding me over for now!

Mining for Truth

I’ve never read a Pierce Brown novel before so I wasn’t too sure what I was getting myself into with this series. As of now I’m in the love with the storytelling! The emotions that emanate from Darrow the main character throughout the first book is astonishing simply put. This young boy’s life is wrought with sadness, only to be put through a harrowing tragedy!! And worst of all is that it’s only just begun for poor old Darrow.

I don’t want to give too much away just yet, but Darrow is a Red and all Reds are good for are mining helium three from Mars core. Oh that’s right! Darrow isn’t on Earth, he’s on Mars, mining for helium three so that when the softer colors arrive to Mars it will be a hospitable environment…. Unfortunately for Darrow he’s been lied to his entire life and now he has to infiltrate the color that has woven this deception into his life, Gold.

It won’t be easy for Darrow but he’s never had an easy life as a Helldiver. His mission is unimaginable, inconceivable, practically impossible. Turn from Res to Gold and bring the Society crashing down from the inside.

There’s so much that I’m leaving out but only because it’s so gory damn (it’s a Gold thing, you wouldn’t get it) sweeter if you read or listen to the books!! Anyways that’s all that I have for this week, I hope you all have a great week. I’ll talk to you all next Monday!!
